campaign will help you get more exposure. Go over the following article for some useful search engine optimization tips.  Choose some strong keywords you can use to describe your content. You should do some research on popular keywords by using Google AdWords. Compare search volume and popularity or the keywords you want to use. Make sure the keywords you choose correspond to what your audience would look up rather than to words you would use to describe your products. Choose five strong keywords and additional secondary keywords for sub-sections of your website.  Keywords are more efficient if you use them to describe your content. Placing some keywords in your articles will increase your keyword density but you can use keywords more efficiently by placing them in HTML tags. You can for instance describe your articles by placing keywords in title tags or describe your images by using alt tags. Your goal is to provide your audience with quality content and using keywords should not get in the way of your writing.  Organizing your website efficiently will help visitors and search engine spiders find more pages. You should use site-wide links to facilitate navigation to your most important pages. Organize these links on a menu or place site-wide links to discounted products in banners. You will also have to use individual links to connect all your articles to pages with more similar content.  Place some back-links on other sites to draw more traffic to your site. You should share links to your articles by posting them on message boards or on article directories. If you create videos, share them on YouTube along with a link to your website. Send your best articles to online publications and you will eventually be published. Get new back-links regularly or create new back-links to the pages where your links are already featured.  You need to keep track of your results in order to improve your search engine optimization campaign. A quality visitor counter will give you an idea of which links bring traffic to your website and which keywords they look up before clicking on your links. You should also monitor your ranking in search engine results for the different keywords you use in your SEO campaign. Subscribe to an SEO newsletter to stay up to date with new trends and  methods used by search engines.  Organic search engine optimization is an excellent way to get more exposure. This method consists in creating quality content for your site so Internet users share this content. Search Engine Optimization Techniques That Will Work For You!

You must use search engine optimization techniques if you want your online business to be as successful as it can possibly be. You must have a high ranking on search engine results in order for people to actually find out that your website exists. By reading the advice in the following article you will learn different techniques that companies use to improve their rankings and get more people to their websites.  When you write content you want to make sure the content will be something that your target audience will actually be interested in reading. For example, if your target audience is baby boomers than you shouldn't write content that uses a lot of new technical terms that your readers will not understand. Confusion will just drive visitors away from your website and so will content that they are not interested in.  In addition to writing content that your visitors will want to read, you should also actually spend the time to make sure that the articles you write are well-written. Double check to make sure your content is completely unique; you may have subconsciously plagiarized something without actually meaning any harm and if people find out about that then it would reflect poorly on your website and company.  Remember that spiders from search engines that crawl your
website will not be able to actually read the content in your images. Because of this you will have to attach attributes to the images in order for the spiders to be able to read them. Use alt codes and title your images with keywords so that the images can be useful when it comes to search engine optimization. You will also probably want to avoid using fancy programs such as Flash on your website since search engine bots will not be able to recognize any of the content in Flash animations.   Make life easier on the search engine spiders that crawl your website. Have a well-defined site map and make it so navigation is simple so that they can crawl through all of your pages. Doing this makes it easier for them to rank you highly on search engines.  When choosing the keywords for your website you should make it so they are as effective as possible. You may be tempted to go for broad terms when it comes to keywords, but the truth is that if you go with broad terms then you will be fighting off a lot of competition. Instead a better idea would likely be to target a specific niche. You're much more likely to be ranked higher when people search for something specific since you won't be fighting as much competition.  Even with how saturated the internet is these days, there's still room out there for new online businesses. However, people won't come to your website simply because it exists. You must give your target market a reason to visit your website. One of the most effective ways of doing this is to raise your ranking on search engines thanks to search engine optimization techniques. By using the tips you just learned you will do exactly that.

*** Backlinks AND SEO***

Simple Ways To Work On Your SEO  Search engine optimization, or SEO, is a free way for you to attract visitors to your site in an organic fashion. By simply focusing on your SEO efforts, you are able to rank more highly in search engine results, which will make sure that people can find your site day or night without much effort from you. However, you need to put some effort into SEO in order for it to function properly for you. Here are some simple steps that will help you.  Think about what SEO success means to you. Do you want to end up on the number one spot when people search for products like yours, or is the first page sufficient. When you are thinking about where you want to be with your site, that will dictate how much work you put into your SEO efforts, and it will also help you figure out which methods you should work on.  You certainly need to work on optimizing your site. That can be done through meta-tags, headlines, site maps and other things that make use of relevant keywords.  You are going to need back links, so think carefully about how you can do that. Backlinks are links that lead to your site from other sites. You can get backlinks in a number of ways. First, you can ask other people in your industry if they will give you a backlink in return for a blog post. You can write articles for online and offline magazines that have to do with your industry, and in your author byline, you can have a link back to your site. Backlinks help the search engines to consider you an expert, and the search engines figure if others link back to you, you must be popular for a reason.  Another way to get backlinks is through social media. Social media is another free way for you to get the word out about your site. Here, you can share information and entertainment with people in your target market, and they will be likely to share it with their friends and colleagues, all leading back to your site. This is a great way to build a customer base.  Make sure you don't forget about people. Some people stash keywords into every single bit of their content, and that does nothing but turn people off. Remember that reaching people is your ultimate goal. It doesn't matter if your site is packed with keywords if no one ever wants to stay very long on your site because your content sounds muddled and artificial.  SEO is something you can work on a little bit every day in order to see results. It is not something that happens overnight, nor is it something that you can set up in one day and watch blossom. When you use the information in this article, it becomes easier for you to do the SEO that you need to do to make sure your site starts ranking well. Use the tips here, and you'll succeed.

***Search Engine Optimization Tips: Social Media***

Small Business Search Engine Optimization Tips: Social Media  When it comes to bettering your website, there are few techniques as powerful as search engine optimization. When done right, you will bump your site up on the search engine results page and therefore find greater traffic comes to your site. If you want to learn how it's done right for small business, this is the article for you.  Search engine optimization isn't restricted to your website. In fact, optimizing your social media profiles is a must. That means completing the "About" section of your page fully, including the same keywords you use on your website. On Facebook, you must include your address to ensure that people who do local searches are able to find your company. Also, be sure to link to your social media profiles from your website and from your profiles back to your website. This ensures that they are getting "link juice" from each other, bettering their ranks on search engines.  Not only should your "About" section include keywords, but your content as well. From descriptions on pinned items on Pinterest to your Facebook updates, try to work the words in naturally. When you post anything on your site, be it a blog post or a new article, link back to it from your social media accounts. If you are able to post it to Twitter, you will find that Google adds that page to its search results more quickly than if you didn't "tweet" it. Also include the name of your business in your social media posts as it will link the keywords you put in the content with the name of your company.  How high your website ranks on search engine results pages depends on how many people link to your website. You should set up link exchanges with other relevant sites, such as your suppliers or even forums where people who buy your products post. Don't forget that Facebook "Likes" and comments, Google+ "+1s", Pinterest repins and Twitter retweets all count as backlinks, so the more share-worthy your content is, the better your rank will be.  I once heard someone state that "Google loves Google+ most of all", and they couldn't be more right. If you want a good rank on Google, create a Google+ account for your business. Fill out the "About" section in full, and don't forget your keywords. You can put links in your profile as well, so link to your Twitter, Facebook and website for great backlinks. It will take you no more than ten minutes a day to ensure your Google+ is optimized so that Google easily ranks your pages nice and high.  With these tips in mind, you should be able to quickly alter how your website functions in order to better its ranking on search engine results pages. It won't be hard for you to make those changes, so begin the project today. Once your income increase, you will be so glad you took the time to learn all you could about search engine optimization!

Top Ideas For Search Engine Optimization1

Sound Ideas For Search Engine Optimization  The subject of search engine optimization is one that many folks know they need to pay attention to, but when they do, they mentally struggle. If you are just starting out with SEO, or want to make your efforts easier, keep reading for a number of sound ideas that are simple and easy to use.  Make sure that whatever website you are trying to optimize has content that is both quality and recent. You probably already know that search engines place a premium on unique content, and you likely already know how to produce such content, be it through rewriting or spinning or both. However, content that is actually deemed as authoritative is given more weight within SERPS, as is recent content. Even if you can't personally produce new content for a website on a daily basis, find some way to make it happen, even if you use an autoblogging tool to update the site three times a week.  Contrary to what you might hear after recent Google updates, backlinks still matter. You want a lot of them pointing to your site. However, they need to be good links. You can't just make 10,000 links in one html file and point them all from one page. You need a variety of backlinks from websites, forums, social media accounts, blogs and lower tiered sites.  Remember that not all text within a webpage is given the same weight within search engines. Every one of your pages needs a title tag, but they should each individually be unique to one another.  Try to make sure that you are focused on search phrases rather than search keywords. Think about how you use search engines. Do you use just keywords? Or do you focus your search immediately by making a search phrase to narrow down the results faster? Many Internet users do this, so think about the natural search phrases for your subject matter and cater to them. Often, search phrases are just direct questions, as users trust Google to directly answer such queries. Have an article about that specific question, and SERP #1 might just be yours!  Find a program or website that lets you test your keyword density. You of course need keywords within your content, but you don't want too many of them. Ideally, you will have around a density of 2 percent. Never spend money on a keyword density checker, as you can find this feature within free spellcheckers available online.  Even though the Internet is global, never fear thinking local. You might have a niche or subject you know well that you want to do a website for only to find out that the primary keywords are crowded in terms of the results. Add your local community name to the keyword and then check the results. Can you put a local spin on the subject to garner area traffic?  Now that you have read these tips, you know that search engine optimization is probably a lot more simple than you once assumed. Put these ideas into play so that you can make SEO work better for you in the near future.

Myths of Search Engine Optimization!

The Myths of Search Engine Optimization  Search engine optimization has truly blossomed in the last ten years. It began as a simple technique using meta tags and is now a full fledged field of business unto itself. That said, many myths persevere which should have been killed off ages ago. To learn the truth about these beliefs, check out the content below.  An SEO company can be endorsed by Google. The fact is that Google doesn't want anyone optimizing their website! They want you to create a site, put your effort into providing exceptional expert content, go out and trade links with similar sites just so both audiences can find each other, and then leave the rest to Google. That means they won't be approving of any SEO methods, white, gray or black hat.  It doesn't matter who links to your site, back links are hugely important. If those links are on sites which have nothing to do with the topic of your site, or on link farms or directories, Google won't use them when calculating your page rank. You need to have links on sites which are natural, those where the audience would actually be interested in your content. Those sites must also have a high page rank in order for you to benefit at all from their links.  Site maps are just for search engines, not visitors. The fact is that many readers will use your site map to locate the pages of your site quickly, especially secondary pages which they won't find links to in your main navigation menu. You have to design your site map with your user in mind. Make it look good and be easy to understand to ensure that anyone can make use of it, search engine or otherwise.  Google Analytics allows the company to spy on your site and they will use what they find against you. I'm sure the people who came up with this idea also wear tin foil hats and rally against false flag operations in their spare time. Google has no reason to spend valuable money on someone who's sole job it is to check out what your site is up to and then use it to ruin your page rank. They really have better things to do with their time, so don't worry about this one at all.  SEO automation is black hat territory. There is nothing wrong with automating some SEO techniques. If you find great tools which do the work for you, why not let them save you time and effort? Large companies just can't pay someone to do all the work necessary to complete SEO on all of their content. You will not find your site penalized if you use automated tools, so make use of them if you can.  It's so important to know fact from fiction when it comes to search engine optimization. As long as you take the time to learn all you can, your SEO strategy will be top notch. Continue reading articles just like this one to boost your knowledge and better your results.

*** Tips Better Search Engine Optimization! ***

Tips In Effective Use For Keywords For Better Search Engine Optimization  It is no secret that search engine optimization requires the use of keywords. However, the way you use keywords affects how effective your optimization strategy is. Search engines have fine-tuned their algorithms so that they can detect whether keywords are used legitimately in context, or whether they are just words stuffed in a web page to make it look like the content is relevant. As the content creator of a website, you should learn how to use keywords
strategically to make them effective. This article will give you some tips on what you need to know.  In the past, the strategy was to use your keywords in context as many times as possible on your web page. This led to a black hat strategy called "keyword stuffing" which resulted in a lot of irrelevant content ranking high on the results list. Search engines have caught on and have become very intelligent. Now, the approach should be to pick a couple of main keywords to focus on for each page instead of overloading your page with a bunch of different keywords. From the search engine's perspective, it is better to make your page's content cover a couple of main ideas and stay to the point. When you think about it, good writing follows this same approach. Your readers will find your content much more helpful if you do not digress into related ideas.  When you have keywords of related ideas, use these only once on your page that has another main focus. This is prevent search engines from thinking that you are trying to include several main ideas at the same time. You can use this secondary keyword as anchor text to link to another page where this second set of keywords become the main idea. This is how you form relevant links among your pages  Your first paragraph should pack the punch in how your main keyword is used. You can use it a couple of times in explaining what the rest of the page is about. For the rest of the page, you do not have to include the keyword in each paragraph. In fact, it is better to mention the keyword just occasionally when the context requires it. Your content logic should flow as you write. Your keyword should not look like it is artificially used just to improve your page rank.  A well-optimized article is really a well-written article because the writing approach for both is very similar. When your reader types in a keyword into a search engine, they want the best and most relevant articles ranked on top. This the way it should be.  Other places where you should use your keyword is in the title and and description tags of your page header. This is where search engines pull information about your website and display it in search results. So you should be sure that your content here is well-written.  When your website is optimized well, you will see improvement in your traffic. There is no replacement for high-quality content when it comes to ranking well in a search results.

Top SEO Mistakes!

Top SEO Mistakes You Are Already Making  You will find a great deal of content online which tells you what you need to be doing when it comes to search engine optimization, but these articles rarely focus on what you shouldn't be doing. It is important to know about the mistakes made by others so that you can avoid them yourself. Be able to skip over the pitfalls your competition has encountered by reading the content below.  Many people create a list of keywords after they have created their website or new content. This is a huge mistake as adding keywords and phrases once the content is complete may leave it looking unnatural and obvious. When you plan to add a new blog, article or page, consider what the content will be about first, then create a list of keywords which you will need to include in the title and the content itself. Then you can easily work it into the page, including HTML tags, without it seeming like you put it there on purpose.  Many people want a flashy website, and for that they turn to Flash. Sadly, Google can't index a Flash movie and therefore you lose the ability to have that content indexed. If you must have Flash, also offer users an HTML version of the page as that is what a Google spider will find when it visits your site. Use the NoScript HTML tag to do this easily and effectively. Be sure to describe what is in the Flash movie, if it is your main content, and use your key phrases in the text. If your navigation uses Flash, provide a separate HTML website which users are directed to if Flash isn't detected in their browser.  While it is important to create meta tags according to the traditional rules of length and content, don't rely on them to get your website ranked highly anymore. The fact is that meta tags are pretty much obsolete today. Be sure to use them correctly as the title of your site and description do show up on the search engine results page, and effective copy will lead the searcher to click through to your website. This can be even more important than how highly you rank on the page itself, as if no one clicks through, your rank won't matter.  If you really want to rank highly, your URL matters the mot. If you have your main keywords in your URL, or even in your page and file names, you will rank higher than your competitors who don't also engage in this strategy. That means you should consider your keywords when you title each page. For example, if you decide "how to build a work bench" is the key phrase you wish to target with your article, don't just make the title on the page that, but also name the page "how_to_build_a_work_bench.html". Be sure to link to the page from other pages on your site, such as the front page and similar articles, with that key phrase as the anchor text of the link, too.  Now that you know what mistakes you need to avoid, be sure to include this knowledge in your search engine optimization strategy. If you do, you will be focused on the positive aspects of building your website. This will ensure that you have less stress and more success over time.

Understanding Search Engine Optimization

Understanding Search Engine Optimization In Order To Boost Results  The fact is that the more you know, the better, even when it comes to search engine optimization. You may think you know it all, but the truth is that there is always something new to learn. Check out the content below to find a plethora of tips and information which can help you become a better SEO strategist.  When it comes to search engine optimization, key words and phrases are king. Search engines figure out what every page on your site is about based on the text it contains. If you formulate your content correctly, you can let search engines know exactly what searches you would like your site to appear on. That means you have to work hard to research which key words and phrases best apply to your content, which are currently not being aggressively marketed to, and which have an ample number of search queries every month. With that information, you can begin to implement SEO strategies to capitalize on those opportunities.  Optimization goes beyond the text content on your site. You also have to optimize your HTML. That means including Title and Description meta tags so you can control how search engines display your website to searchers. You also need to include keywords where they belong, such as in image alt tags or headings. While this alone won't cut it when it comes to SEO, it is an important step within your strategy which cannot be overlooked.  Once you have your HTML optimized, you also need to focus on your content. Fresh, unique content must be added to your site frequently for Google to consider it an expert site on the topic. That means more than spun articles or cheap advice! You need to focus on content written by someone who truly knows the topic and has a good grasp on your website's native language. If you have great content, search engines will reward you for your hard work. On top of that, people will be interested in what your site has to offer, returning frequently. It is just as important to please your visitors as it is to please Google. If you don't keep visitors happy, all the time you spend on SEO will be for nothing!  You must continue to work hard to keep your page rank high. That means analyzing new keywords and testing them out, checking your Google Analytics account to monitor your success and adding new content as often as possible. You should also be maintaining social media accounts which you post to when new content is added to your website, giving you quick and effective back links and a venue to communicate with your customers.  Once you better understand search engine optimization, as you likely do now, you will be prepared to benefit from its results. Take what you have learned here and then use it to better your techniques. In the end, your site will be easier to find for customers and your profits will increase.

Use proven methods of search engine optimisation to notice a significant increase in the amount of people who come to your website.  A great way to increase the amount of visitors you bring in is to get links from sources such as other websites. In return you can agree to link back to their website so that there's a positive relationship on both sides. By doing this you will get the other websites visitors to learn about your website and they may become regular visitors. Backlinks are also important when it comes to search engine optimization since search engines will take into account just how many of these backlinks exist for certain websites. Give people reasons to talk about your new product and your company's reputation will increase. The more people talk about your product, the more your company name will appear in highly-ranked news articles from other sources and your website will see an increase in search engine rankings as a result.   You shouldn't always be targeting new customers. Existing customers have shown that they were interested in your website at one point, so give your previous customers more incentive to keep coming back over and over again. Offer discounts, continually give good deals, and have solid customer service. If people are happy with the service that they received at your website they will remember that for a long time. They next time they're in the market for something that your company sells, they will likely go to your company before they go with somebody new if they have had good experiences with you in the past.  Most companies will use strategies similar to the ones outlined in the article when they implement a search engine optimisation plan. Myths About Search Engine Optimization!

x Myths About Search Engine Optimization  Are you trying to learn more about search engine optimization? Have you encountered a plethora of information, but you're not sure what's true and what isn't? This article will detail some of the most common myths out there and teach you what the truth is and how it can help your SEO strategy.  If you want to boost your ranking on Google, put an XML sitemap on your site. Yes, a site map allows spiders to easily and quickly discover all of the pages on your website. That is great and makes creating such a page totally worth it. That said, it won't boost your page rank just because the page is included in the site map, regardless of how important it may seem on the list.  If you mark your page as XHTML Mobile, the mobile version of Google will rank it higher for mobile searches. Nope, Google uses the same results for both mobile and computer users. Creating a mobile site benefits your visitors, so do so, but don't do it to better your SEO.  If a page on your site can only be found through searching your site, Google won't index it. It is insane to have pages which aren't linked to somewhere on your site, but Google now knows how to find them. That said, it isn't easy, so be sure that every site is available, even if it is just on a site map.  What a great position on the search engine ranking page? You have to adhere to keyword density rules. Actually, Google wants you to provide unique, interesting content, and they don't care how many times a keyword or phrase shows up on a page. Create good content, the rest will come later.  Google adores hyphenated domain names! No, it doesn't, and neither do searchers. In fact, most people see a domain like buy-sports-socks-here.com and consider it to be spam. There is nothing wrong with hyphenating keywords in a file name, but don't do it in your domain name.  All you have to do is create amazing content to get ranked highly on Google. Sadly, this just isn't the case. You still have to put effort into building back links, promoting your site through social media and getting the word out to the masses in order to create a popular website. You can't just build it and hope that "they" will come.  If your pages don't end in .html, Google won't rank them as highly. Wait, what? How does that make sense at all? Google ranks everything from .php to .asp without any bias, so don't worry about that myth.  The Google spider can't read CSS, so feel free to fill it with spam to boost your rank. Google knows all about hidden DIVs and invisible text, so you won't get away with it for long. This is a great way to have your site entirely delisted, though.  There, now you know all about many myths you need to overcome. You can easily learn more about SEO now that you know what really applies to the field. That will leave you poised to boost your results position and better your site's popularity.

Traffic Banks: Where Websites Buy Targeted Traffic

Have you ever wondered on the source of your website traffic? Especially when you buy targeted traffic or employ the service of traffic banks, you would like to make sure that you receive only the visits with guaranteed quality to create a higher likelihood of conversion. Let us review some of these traffic sources and find out how they can really bring targeted traffic to our websites.

Traffic banks have access to a massive number of websites where banners, text ads, widgets, etc. can easily be posted. Clicks to these forms of advertisements can be programmed to get redirected to your own website or web pages. Websites by traffic banks may pertain to different industries and, normally, have already established search engine authority which makes them easily accessible on the web. Traffic banks will naturally associate your own website to their websites with a nature similar to yours. Hence, the traffic you get is surely targeted.

Emailing lists are also other sources of targeted traffic. Many emailing service companies offer a list of emails of individuals who are interested in a specific industry. An effective email campaign has a potential of generating endless targeted traffic to your site especially that the emails can easily be forwarded to other email addresses which were not originally part of your list. The email may contain the ad, a link, or direct messages that encourage its readers to visit your website.

Some traffic banks also buy expired domain names. Add to this the possible misspellings of a particular domain which can generate substantial traffic due to the marketing efforts of the original website owner. This is why wise website owners often purchase variations of his original domain name (ex. aside from traffic.com, he may also opt to buy trafic.com, traffic.net, traffic.org, etc.) – to make sure that all traffic that intends to go to the site really lands on the site. Traffic that goes to the expired domain names are redirected to your website by traffic banks (which now own the domains). Of course, to make sure that the traffic is really targeted, your website is always associated to a domain name that clearly reflects your industry.

Then there is affiliation. Targeted traffic providers often have multiple vendors or publishers who work independently to bring traffic, leads, and sales to websites that will be assigned to them. The independent publishers may use different modes (including the methods previously stated) such as blogs, text and image ads, etc. You normally would have to pay for a specific commission rate for every number of traffic or leads that a publisher is able to direct to your website.

And usually, traffic banks simply employ practices that you would normally perform too to optimize your site. They may submit your website to directories under specific categories, connect with other companies to run a cost-per-click or cost-per-impression campaigns, or to write and submit quality literature to article submission sites like EzineArticles, GoArticles, or ArticleDashboard etc. Truly there are endless resources from where one can buy targeted traffic.

Add Some Fun To Your Product Promotions!

How many websites have a home page where you have a search engine with a catalog that a buyer can browse? Many of them do now, and this is a standard way to market your products online. It may be a bit boring, but it does have its place in online marketing. But, what if you were able to add some fun to your home page and sell your products at the same time? Wouldn't that make your product promotion more memorable than the rest? Probably so.

Interactive Fun

People who are online are generally familiar with interactive elements like radio buttons, multiple choice boxes, and clicking with a mouse, right? So, why not engage your customers by teasing them with fun games and activities when they hop online? An example of this might be pop up boxes that offer a funny cartoon or video related to the site and promotes a product. Or, it can be a survey that asks people to participate in exchange for a discount coupon.

Polls

Polls are very popular, both on social networking sites and on private websites. They are easy to use and people love to answer and question and see how they compare to others who gave their opinion. It can be a great way to generate community and add some spark to a discussion too.

Quizzes

What if you have a bit of a competitive streak in you? Well, you can develop quizzes for people to gage their level of expertise in a topic and see how they rank against others who completed the quiz. You can even use that as a spring board to offer infoproducts that discuss more about the topic of the quiz or help to improve performance in that area.

Virtual Tools

If you create a virtual tool that allows your customers to imagine how buying a particular product will impact their lives, it will help to sell the product more. For instance, if you were selling wigs, you might create a tool that allowed you to upload an image of your face and then adds the wig on in a virtual try-out of the product. Of course, it will take some development work, but this is the type of interactive tool that can really increase your sales.

Chat

This feature is good for a membership site, where people want interactive features to help them connect with others. It can also be used to provide customer service help for customers who have questions or problems. Anything that allows more real-time interaction with other people is a great plus, and it doesn't necessarily have to be contact with you directly. It can be contact with other members, contact with online sales representatives, or technical troubleshooters. As long as they are engaging your website in ways that engage them completely, you will have more and more of their attention. Ignore them or keep the same stale site, and you will be very hard-pressed to generate interest on solely the strength of your products alone.

Ask Yourself: So, what?

You've all heard the dictum to list your benefits. List as many benefits of your product as you can and hope that the person that comes to your website will read most of them. This way, it will overcome any objection they may have and you will score a sale. But, have you read your own list of benefits to see how compelling they are? Have you taken the time to really sit down, pretend you are a visitor to your site, and read the benefits on your sales page. And, more importantly, have you dared to ask yourself: So, what?

Why The Question Is Important

Most sales objections are pretty common from one buyer to another. They think a product is too expensive, or they think a product is too complicated. They don't have the money right now, or they wanted it in a different colour or size. But, there are many people who don't have a vague idea of why they should buy and are just showing up because some link on the Internet landed them there. They may even be a part of your demographic, but they weren't thinking of making a purchase and so they have no objections. The only thing they think is :”So, what?” That's right, the same question that you should ask yourself may be the same question that millions of other people surfing the web may ask themselves. If you know the answer to that question, you know how to compel people to buy your product.

Read Each Benefit Out Load

Okay, benefits are usually bullet ed on a sales page with the best benefits near the top. So, start at the top of the list and read the first benefit out loud. Then, pause. And, say to yourself out loud too: “So, what?” You see? Do you believe the “so, what?” or is your mind overcoming the objection for you? If you have compelling copy that “So, what?” is going to seem absolutely ridiculous to utter. However, if the copy isn't up to snuff, your so what will generally plant a doubt in your mind and then that will help to lead you to the proper way to frame that benefit in the future.

Eliminate Doubt

Okay, you said: “So, what?” You realise that there was some doubt. The question just made you aware of it. So, you have to pinpoint why that doubt arose. What in the copy was not clear or compelling enough to erase that question from ever arising? What can you do to make sure that even if someone says, “so, what?” they will feel excitement and interest at reading that benefit and continue down your list. You will know when your sales page is ready when you read down the list, ask yourself that question, and realise it has no relevance whatsoever! The points are addressed, they are clearly stated, and they make the right emotional and intellectual appeal. Once you have this technique down, your copy will get exciting, compelling, and almost irresistible on the people who land on your sales page.

***GENERATE TRAFFIC NOW***

Take A Walk On The Wild Side

Having a little trouble grabbing some attention for your products? Well, have you considered that you may be playing it too safe to be noticeable. Let's face it, people who get attention aren't typically the shy and unadorned kind, they are the more extroverted and rambunctious crowd. So, is your product too staid to really go after the traffic on the web, and generate genuine interest and enthusiasm? Well, then you might want to think about taking a walk on the wild side.

Controversy Sells

If you find yourself shying away from controversy, this is one area you genuinely need to explore. It doesn't even have to be your own created controversy, it can be someone else's controversy, and all you're doing is adding to the conversation. For instance, when eBay first came out with it's policy to not allow infoproducts on their auction listings unless sellers delivered a physical product, like a CD or DVD, it generated a huge controversy around the Internet.

While others where moaning about the collapse of their business models, there were more astute business people who exploited the opportunity to get some free publicity by offering products to help sellers transform their business model so they could continue to sell on eBay. No matter what side you were on, whether it was a bad or a good policy, the fact is that the amount of controversy that it produced provided a perfect opportunity to ride a wave of free publicity, if you can help people overcome some of their issues.

Walk A Fine Line

So, yes, you do want to constantly look out for opportunities that come with issues of great controversy. They typically have a short window, but during that window, you can get instant product and name recognition, if you play your cards right. What you don't want to do is align yourself with one side or another and alienate half your customers. There is a fine line you must walk if you dare to walk on the wild side. You want to engage the controversy, but you don't want your name associated with negatives of the entire thing too. And, certainly there are some controversies that are simply “too hot to handle.”

Don't Burn Yourself Out

Unless you are Planned Parenthood, the odds of a classic online business wanting to engage an abortion controversy is almost non-existent. It's just a controversy that is extremely volatile and can end up burning people out instead of creating enthusiasm and genuine interest in the topic. So, engage controversies that are interesting, have some oomph, but avoid the ones that are going to cause problems for your public image or alienate too many of your customers. If you do find that you've inadvertently done that by accident, retract your support immediately, issue an apology to all your customers, regardless of the issue, and move on. So, it does take a bit of daring to engage controversy, but the strategy can enliven your business overnight, if done properly. If you do that, you can take a walk on the wild side, and learn how to position your products to profit with a wave of free publicity.

Why Exclusivity Sells

If you're having trouble promoting your products in a bad market, you have to start to figure out ways to market them to increase the demand for them. One way is to create an exclusive aura that appeals to people who are status seekers. This doesn't just work with high income demographics, although that is generally where it is used, but it also can appeal to middle-income people who want to upgrade their image by taking part in exclusive products and offerings.

Think Cars

Would you rather been seen driving a value Honda or a classy BMW? Well, if you're like most people, the car that you would prefer, if you had the money, would be the BMW. Is it because a BMW is such a unique car that no other car in the world can come close to it? Probably not, at least not in the minds of those people who opt for it. It has more to do with the instant association of wealth and status that driving a BMW confers. They even are referred to affectionately a “beemers” that have such an impact on class consciousness. Well, there is no reason you can't create the same aura of exclusivity around your products and services to help you market them more.

What Makes Your Products Special

The best way to make a product feel luxurious and exclusive is to very explicitly tell everyone about the finest details of this product that make it special. It's really not over the top to talk about the fine silver filligree made in Europe or the special process that went in to creating such a unique and exclusive product. The more you tell people why your product is special, the more they will believe it.

It may seem boring to detail everything from the design of the leather engraving to the special and laborious and perfect cut of a diamond that reflects 72 facets, or whatever. But, really it's not. People who are very into status and image love to hear exactly how this piece is special so they can turn around and tell their friends too. And, hopefully, by doing so you also get some more sales from word of mouth too.

Limit The Product Roll out

Another great way to make your products exclusive is to limit them to a certain number of people. This is done with artist's prints and it helps to spur sales for people who may be sitting on the sidelines thinking the offer will stand forever. Make sure your customers know that this is such a good deal, and only a few select people will get to take you up on it for that promotion. And, if you do make a promise not to roll it out the same way again, whether it's by giving the same price or the same design or whatever, you have to stick to your promise. It's only an exclusive offer if later on you don't offer the exact same offer to someone else and disappoint your earlier customers.

***FACEBOOK INNOVATION FOR YOUR WEBSITE***

Innovation With Applications

Innovation is going to help you succeed where others fail. If you don't innovate during these tough times, your product line will get stale and your company will have a harder and harder time differentiating themselves from everyone else. But, by doing something unique that shows off what an innovative business you are, it can give you the online image that you are a smart, hip, and with it company that is going to keep getting better and better. But, how do you do this when you don't want to spend a ton of money and time on research and development on products that may not earn more then they took to develop. Well, until the time comes to unroll your big innovation, you can opt for small innovative gestures that show your customers you really are on the leading edge. For that, Internet and social networking applications can be a really easy way to get the right attention without too much in depth research or commitment.

Website Applications

Even if you don't decide to develop your own, there are plenty of website applications you can use on your own website to give the impression that you are technologically savvy and innovative. If you have a stock market website, why not include some stock quote applications? If you are a mortgage lender, mortgage calculators make ideal tools to add to your website because they help your buyers determine how much house they can afford.

You can even hire someone to create special applications for your website to further promote some product. For instance, recently, a website call Telonu.com that offers reviews of employers also created an application that tracks the layoffs in the different companies. People who go to the site cannot only get an idea of how good they are to work for, but whether they are stable, growing companies or not.

Social Networking Applications

There is a great glut of applications on social networking sites, like Facebook. But, there's always room for one more, if it is genuinely innovative and engaging. These make an excellent foil to introduce new customers to your business and to interact in a manner that is non-threatening and friendly. Different examples of popular applications on Facebook are L'il Green which gets environmentally conscious people to build virtual gardens and save rain forest while they're doing it. If an application is well accepted, it can spread across Facebook very fast, landing you in practically everyone's inbox.

You can hire someone to create a Facebook application or you can do it yourself. Basic ones are generally just a collection of images that are used to promote some concept and that are fun to send as gifts to others on the same social networking site. Just downloading one application will often get you a link to create your own application, should the mood suit you and you have a firm concept that promotes your business niche too. Don't just go willy-nilly. Try to use the application to help provide exposure for some area within your business that is targeting a specific market niche.

FACEBOOK AND TWITTER CASH!

Personalise It To Sell!

Social networking is taking off big time with sites like Facebook and Twitter in the top five social networking sites. These sites have created new opportunities to reach people online, even market them, if you know how to do it correctly. One thing that you can be sure of is that people who get on these sites enjoy the way it helps them define their self-identities. So, marketing to anything that helps them say who they are, what groups they belong to, and what values they uphold is a great way to build your contact list, and even in some cases, promote products that will appeal to this demographic.

Look At Me!

One way that Facebook and Twitter allow you to personalise the profile is by using your real name, or in the case of Twitter, a screen name. This draws attention to who that person is and helps to boost their self-image. In the same way, if you are trying to sell cups or calendars, if you have some way that you can include a personalisation to make the item more custom, you will generate more orders. Everyone likes to see their name in print!

Generate A Group Identity

On Facebook, you can set up a Facebook page for celebrities, businesses, and products. People then join these pages to become a group of fans that like the page or topic. Once you have a group of people together, it can be a great way to get a group identity together by creating interesting names for the groups, having interactive activities on occasion and creating social badges that show people as being a member of that group. This helps in promoting your group and your business as other people go to other social networking sites. They can then identify themselves by saying they're a member of that group or using some other form of badge or button that you provide to identify themselves with pride. Even if they never go elsewhere to promote your group, the fact that they are a part of a group that you started gives you a captive audience and relaxes many of the restrictions that you have for marketing in Facebook. You can't spam others on their profiles with your offers, but in a group, the practise may be more acceptable if it helps to facilitate group activities and uphold group standards of identity.

Social Values That Sell

If you are a non-profit organisation trying to use social networking to help generate contacts and promote some of your products, you can sell through the promotion of your social values. For instance, if you are a non-profit that believes in environmental issues, you can promote specific items in your product line-up, in a post to a group wall, that shows how that item helps to save the environment. Since people wouldn't join the group of a social conscience site without having some of the same values, it provides an excellent trigger to generate buying behaviour.
